APRIL BATTLE 6/4/2024
WEAREKREATIV's April Battle is back, and will be held on Saturday 6/4 at "The Studios", located in Espoo, Niittykumpu (address: Kappelikuja 6 D, 02200 Espoo). The doors will open at 14:45 and the first battle preselection will start at 15:30.
We would like to welcome you to join us for a Saturday filled with dancing! The night will include inspiring battles, laid-back cyphering and good music - that can also be enjoyed only as a spectator, if you wish! We will have two different Hip Hop 1 vs 1- battles, one for youth (people born in 2008 or later) and one for adults (people born in 2007 or earlier). We will battle from top 16 battles onwards in both categories. Starting from top 8 the battle categories will be united into one Hip Hop 2 vs 2 category, where the battles will proceed with pairs drawn from the hat!
By attending the April Battles you will also be joining us in doing some good, because 40 % of the ticket sales will be donated to Yhteiset Lapsemme ry, a non-profit organization that promotes the well-being of multicultural children and the fulfillment of childen's rights.
The event is organized according to safer space guidelines and there is therefore absolutely no room for any form of discrimination, harassment, racism or bullying. Read more about our safer space policies here (in Finnish).
TIME: Saturday 6/4 at 15:30-20:00 (doors open at 14:45)
CATEGORIES:
Hip Hop 1 vs 1 youth (people born in 2008 or later)
Hip Hop 1 vs 1 adults (people born in 2007 or earlier)
The category is defined by birth year. The battle preselection will be done by showcase battles. Both categories will be top 16 battles. From the top 8 battles onwards the dancers will be paired up with a dancer from the other age group and from here, the night will continue as one combined Hip Hop 2 vs 2 battle.

17:40-18:05 Hip Hop 1 vs 1, youth top 16
18:05-18:30 Hip Hop 1 vs 1, adults top 16
18:30-18:40 Lottery of the pairs (2 vs 2) and free cyphering
18:40-19:00 Hip Hop 2 vs 2, top8
19:00-19:20 Hip Hop 2 vs 2, semifinals
19:20-19:35 Judge showcases and break, free cyphering
19:35-19:45 Hip Hop 2 vs 2, final
19:45-20:00 Prize-giving & free cyphering
Sign up for the April Battle by filling out the form underneath. The sign up needs to be done by Friday evening 5/4 at the latest.
We encourage you to sign on time, as there are limited number of spots in the categories! The sign up will be confirmed by email and only a confirmed registration will secure a place in the battle. Sign ups can only be done on site if there are still places left in the categories at that time.
